Jives opened the evening with a
number of her original songs. She was in fine musical form and the Elmvale District High School
sound system sounded great. Thanks to Louis Lefaive for setting the system up and loaning it to us!
Many regular Open Mic performers were on hand, Jacob, Jake, Julia, Gord and Mitch. Adding to the
variety of music was Tyler Firestone. With one exception, everyone followed Jives' lead and
presented excellent performances. The exception, quite surprisingly was country crooner Jake Hill
who was suffering from a respiratory condition which impeded his singing style. Just the same, Jake
selected some good tunes to present. Jake also receives honourable mention for answering his
cellular telephone while on stage. "And this next number is..."
Also of note this
evening, was Gord, who joined his musical partner Mitch on vocals for a song. Gord usually relegates
himself to guitar only.(photo left is Tyler Firestone)
