Elmvale students join Ariana Gillis at smash CD release event!
Elmvale
district high school students, and one former student, sang with
up-and-coming Canadian teenage star Ariana Gillis in Orillia, recently.
Wednesday, October 21 saw a special concert, celebrating the release of
Gillis' latest album To Make it Make Sense
take place at Galaxy Theatre 1, produced by Stellula Music in Schools.
Julia Beaulieu, on behalf of Stellula, organized the back-up singers
for the event."Ariana, being one of my favorite singers, I was honoured to have had the responsibility of getting the group together. When we were on stage I could feel that it was right. We had great fun, before, after and during the show. We'll certainly be promoting Ariana more and more as times goes on."
Students at Elmvale District High School recently had the benefit of
learning from another, but more established Canadian musician,
Katherine Wheatley. Technical aspects of music, in addition to personal
experience, had students of vocal and guitar classes captivated and
involved one-on-one, with excercises in musical communication.
Professional musicians brought to the schools of Simcoe County by Stellula Music in Schools come at no cost to the education system but offer students rich rewards.
